Schnell fiel meiner Kollegin auf, dass sich auf den Guttaperchapoints seltsame (abwischbare) Kristalle befinden.
Hat jemand etwas ähnliches schon mal beobachtet?
Worum könnte es sich handeln?
Hat jemand Anregungen?
Ich hatte diesbezüglich mal bei Nathan Lee (dem Erfinder der im Spritzgussverfahren hergestellten Guttapoints) nachgefragt und er meinte es könnte an Temperaturunterschieden beim Transport liegen, beeinträchtige aber nicht die Funktion.

Ich habe das auch immer wieder mal schon beobachtet. Die „Erklärung“ mit Temperaturunterschieden beim Transport erschliesst sich mir nicht.

The white crystals on the GP point surface are not new and we have done extensive studies on this phenomenon. It can be eliminated through the tight production / injection molding process controls. The most likely cause is the lack of humanity control in the production environment. The number one ingredient in the dental GP material is Zinc Oxide, which has a very strong hydrophilic nature. It can soak up lots of moisture from surrounding atmosphere. When moisture escapes from the GP compound at a later time, it brings out some Zinc oxide and oil-based plasticizer material to the surface. As long as the GP point is not brittle, you can wipe off the crystals and use it clinically. If you see the production date is from late July to late September, it further proves my point.
